Student Registration Information
Children registering for Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year must be five years of age on or before September 1, 2024.
If your child turns 5 years of age between September 2, 2024 and December 31, 2024 please read this letter for more information.
Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-2025 school year will open on March 4th and all parents are encouraged to enroll their students by March 31st
Registration is now a 4 part process:
- Pre-Registration (very few questions) - Approval will be made by building secretaries and an email from PowerSchool detailing the next steps, if you do not receive an email please contact the IT Department and they will help you create your Parent Portal Account.
- Create a PowerSchool Parent Portal Account.
- Fill out all registrations forms (8 forms) found under Forms in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. This cannot be accessed until you have created your parent portal account (step 2).
- Final check by school on documents missing.
All parents seeking to enroll their student(s) in the Oxford Public School System will be required to supply a current CT driver's license and two (2) forms of verification of local residency. Documents that will be accepted include:
- mortgage receipt
- rental receipt
- copy of a lease
- utility bills (gas, electric, telephone, Cable TV).
These documents can be sent to Stephanie Melendez by email. Students entering High School can reach out to the School counseling department for schedule and tours of the building.
Official birth certificate, immunization records, copy of most recent physical, and passport (if needed) are required.Immunizations for protection against diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus (DPT), polio (OPV-IPV), measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and Haemophilus Influenza Type B (Hib) are required under state law for all students to enter school. Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before September 1st and must have had a varicella vaccine. Hepatitis B vaccine series is required for all students born after January 1, 1994. A second (booster) dose of either measles or MMR is required prior to kindergarten and 7th grade.
Students entering 7th grade must have a completed physical with updated immunizations including Hepatitis B. Students entering 8th grade must have completed the Hepatitis B series. Children who have not had chicken pox prior to 7th grade must have a varicella vaccine prior to entry into 7th grade. Oxford High School freshmen must have a completed physical and updated immunizations prior to their sophomore year.
ALL STUDENTS WITHOUT REQUIRED IMMUNIZATIONS AND PHYSICALS MAY NOT ATTEND SCHOOL!
Parents whose child/children have special needs are asked to call the Pupil Personnel Services Department at (203) 888-7754, so that the school records can be received before the start of school.
